Murang’a County lies between the eastern slopes of the Aberdare (Nyandarua) Range and the southern

farmers grow coffee on small plots alongside other food crops.
Thangaini Farmers Cooperative Society has 900 members. In their management
there are 8 processing stations in Murang’a County and over 80 hectares of coffee
plantations Farms are usually less than 1 ha and consist of 200-300 trees. In addition to coffee,
local producers also grow bananas, beans, tea, avocados and macadamia nuts
