ABOUT EL JARDIN COFFEE

El Jardin Farm was founded in 1981. Mario Samuel Mejia Rodriguez inherited it from his father’s widow. Smia includes 4 generations of coffee producers, as zaskavlen in the production of a high-quality product.

El Jardin is located at an altitude of 1400-1650 meters above sea level. in the region of La Paz in the south-western parts of Honduras near the reserve of Monteslos. The inhabitants of Korn – Lenka, call this revenge “the revenge of the stone” because of the gregarious revenge with a thick jungle cover. La Paz has clay loam soils and a dead klmat. Coffee trees here receive less daylight, so they bear fruit in smaller volumes, but with better qualityFinca El Jardín is divided into 2 parts: 20 hectares producing high quality 85+ coffee, 12 hectares producing lower quality coffee with 83 points. In addition to coffee, avocados are also grown here. On farms, they try to work in harmony with the environment, applying organic and some humic fertilizers. For example, coffee processing products are used as organic. In addition, experimental plots using trees were implemented on farms to improve water retention and avoid soil degradation due to very heavy rain in winter.Mario Samuel uses varieties of Brazilian origin with very good yields and excellent cup quality, as well as some varieties of Salvadoran origin. The quality of the coffee is regularly monitored through tastings, which are carried out for each dried batch.
